The Olympians Club of Victoria will celebrate the Anniversaries of the 1960 Rome (50th), 1980 Moscow (30th) and 2000 Sydney (10th) Games as well as welcome home the 2010 Australian Olympic Winter Team.

One of the world’s greatest middle distant runners, 1500m Gold Medallist Herb Elliott AC MBE will also be in attendance.

It's about our very first Olympic hero, his early years as a runner in Melbourne before travelling to London for work experience as an accountant, then the long trip by trains, boats and carriages to Athens. Two Australians to oversee Rio 2016 Olympic preparations

AOC President John Coates has been appointed to the IOC Co-ordination Commission for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Coates is one of two Australians on the 17-member panel which will oversee preparations for the Rio Games.

Greg Hartung, President of the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) is also part of the multinational team responsible for assisting the Rio Organising Committee. [more]
