Hackett calls it a day

Grant Hackett has pulled down the curtain on one of Australia's greatest swimming careers to a standing ovation.

The national team captain announced his retirement at Swimming Australia's swimmer of the year awards in Sydney and it drew the entire crowd to their feet. [more]

BEIJING 2008 - WA RESULTS

While WA’s representation within the 2008 Australian Olympic Team was not as large as previous Games, the 49 WA athletes who went to Beijing did us proud. Our WA athletes contributed to 10 medals on the 2008 Australian Olympic Team Medal Count (2 Gold, 3 Silver and 5 Bronze Medals), in all 14 WA athletes brought home 16 medals. [more]
