Crawford wins Australia’s first halfpipe world championship medal

Holly Crawford has won Australia’s first snowboard halfpipe World Championship medal, riding to silver in Gangwon, Korea, today. The 24-year-old Perisher Blue-based AIS rider earned 39.6 points for her best run in the final, finishing behind Chinese rider Jiayu Liu on 43.6 points, but ahead of 2007 silver medallist Soko Yamaoka of Japan and 2007 bronze medallist Pauine Ligocka of Poland.
