DIVING: Australian synchro pair Esther Qin and Samantha Mills have won silver in the three-metre springboard at the diving World Series event in Canada.
Qin and Mills had an intense battle with the highly-rated Chinese pair of Zi He and Han Wang, with the Australians sitting on top of the leaderboard after three of their five dives.
China ended up winning with 316.80, ahead of Australia's 302.10.
The silver medal further enhances the World Championship prospects of the Australian pairing.
Mills, from Adelaide, and Qin, from Sydney, won a silver medal at a Grand Prix event in Mexico earlier this year.
Mills conceded last week one of the pair will need to relocate ahead of the Rio Olympics so the combination can spend more time training together, but said both are willing to do so.
Meanwhile, Australia's Melissa Wu and Lara Tarvit finished fourth in the women's platform synchro final.
