Mia first took up athletics as a five year old because her sister was already in the sport, but when Mia watched the London 2012 Olympics she became inspired to go places in athletics.
Her career highlights to date include competing and finishing 12th at the World University Games in August and winning the Oceania U20 heptathlon title in 2022. The Victorian takes inspiration from world champion heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, for her resilience to become a world champion once again after a ruptured Achilles tendon.
