Amelia was inspired to pursue Sailing after first trying it as a 10-year-old in 2018 because being on the water makes her feel happy and free. The girl from Davidson, NSW has constantly been at Sailing clubs and regattas as her family is embedded in the sailing community. Family and friends taught Amelia how to windsurf while here sister would be competing in competitions.
Her career highlight so far has been getting offered a position in the 2023 Australian Youth Squad, as well as training in the same places as the Australian Sailing Squad and her sporting idol Emma Wilson (GBR). For most of 2023 Amelia has had stomach issues which later required surgery, which she describes as the biggest challenge she has faced.
