“It will be an Olympic Experience you will never forget”

Places are now open for the Queensland Olympic Council’s inaugural Olympic Sport and Education Forum Queensland Session, to be held on Friday 31st October at the University of Queensland St Lucia Campus.

The Olympic Forum titled “The 21st Century Olympics: The people, the planning, the problems”, provides aspiring athletes, coaches, students and teachers, sports administrators and sporting enthusiasts with a unique opportunity to interact with both present and past Australian Olympic athletes and coaches, leading sports administrators, sports media representatives and Olympic historians.

This year’s forum includes interactive addresses on the preparations for the Athens 2004 Games, a historical overview of the Modern Olympics, and a Corporate Panel incorporating Sports Administrators, Managers, Journalists, Psychologists and Sponsors.

The highlight of the day will include a very personal ‘chat’ with some of Queensland’s greatest Olympians and rising stars including Olympic Silver Medallist Rick Mitchell, Olympic Bronze Medallists Softball Player Kim Cooper, Australian Swimmer Jodie Henry and many more…..

The Forum runs from 9am – 4.30pm in the Abel Smith Lecture Theatre, Campbell Road, UQ St Lucia.

Numbers are limited so please download the attached nomination form and forward details along with $10 entrance fee to the Queensland Olympic Council, PO Box 3643 South Brisbane QLD 4101 prior to Thursday 23rd October 2003.

For further information regarding the forum, please do not hesitate to contact Lisa Forster or Jessica Graham at the QOC office on 3217 2111, or alternatively email us at qoc@olympics.com.au.
