Global Sports Consultants LLC, which does business in Australia under the brand name of CoSport, announced today the conclusion of a sponsorship agreement with the Australian Olympic Committee (“AOC”) and the Australian Olympic Team as the official sponsor for hospitality programs, management services, corporate and consumer ticket and travel packages, and individual tickets through the 2012 Olympic Games.
At the same time the AOC has appointed CoSport as the exclusive ticket and hospitality agent in Australia through 2012. These agreements mean that CoSport will provide world class hospitality services for the AOC and its constituents (including athletes and their families), the Australian Olympic Team sponsors, national sports federations and their members as well as the general public at the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in Beijing, China in 2008, the XXI Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada in 2010 and the Games of the XXX Olympiad in London, England in 2012.
In announcing the sponsorship, Sead Dizdarevic, founder, Chairman and CEO of CoSport commented as follows: “During the past 25 years our company has unquestionably supported the Olympic Movement through our sponsorship of various National Olympic Committees and other organisations. CoSport’s only business is the Olympic Games, and we have a passion to be the very best at what we do.
“The Australian Olympic Committee and the Australian Olympic teams have always been the very best at what they do, and so we are honoured to be chosen as their exclusive partner. There are no better Olympic fans in the world than the people in Australia, and we guarantee that Australian fans will have the best access to the Games for the next six years.”
As a result of CoSport’s existing relationship with the 2008 Beijing Organising Committee (BOCOG), the agreement will allow the AOC to provide the best available hospitality services to its domestic sponsors during the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
These Olympic hospitality packages include: luxury accommodations, premium event tickets, accredited transportation, first-class catering and experienced management services. During the 2006 Torino Olympic Winter Games CoSport hosted several thousand individual guests and managed the hospitality programs for dozens of corporate clients.
The new sponsorship deal is ground breaking for the AOC in that for the first time, its exclusive ticket and hospitality provider will also be a sponsor of the Australian Olympic teams. This fact means that athletes and Olympic hopefuls will receive additional support for their training.
Mr. John Coates, the AOC president and IOC Member said, “CoSport has developed a reputation throughout the Olympic Family as a best in class provider of hospitality at the Olympic Games. They will be instrumental in providing our athletes and their families and other key supporters of the AOC with world-class logistical expertise and event management skills. CoSport’s partnership also helps us in accommodating our sponsors, the public and licensees whose support helps Australia field one of the best Olympic Teams in the world. And for fans of the Olympic Games, there is no better way to attend the event than as a guest of CoSport.”
CoSport has already launched its “Expression of Interest” phase in which the residents of Australia can express interest in events they would like to attend during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games (www.cosport.com). Olympic Hospitality Packages (including accommodation) will be available at the end of January, Official Ticket Request phase is scheduled to start in March, and “live” sales will commence on April 3, 2007, coinciding with the launch of ticket sales by Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.
