The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) today announced the appointment of Ms Jane Fernandez as General Manager, Sport.

Ms Fernandez recently played a key role in the delivery of the Asian Cup in Australia.

Welcoming her to the role today, the AOC Secretary General, Fiona de Jong said “Jane was the Tournament Director at the successful AFC Asian Cup. She was a Senior Project Manager at the Football Federation Australia (FFA) and has worked with Local Organising Committees, multiple major international events in multiple countries including Sydney 2000.

"She has also worked closely with the Federal and State governments and was involved in Australia's bid for the FIFA World Cup."

Ms Fernandez starts on 4 May.
