Adelaide will host the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, with today’s announcement adding another key milestone on the Green and Gold Runway to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

This is the first time Australia will ever host the Beach Volleyball World Championships, bringing competitors, officials, support staff and spectators from around the world to Adelaide.

The tournament will be held in November 2025 on the courts of The Drive, with around 1000 cubic metres of sand brought in to turn the tennis venue into a beach volleyball colosseum.

AOC CEO Matt Carroll welcomed today’s announcement.

“Adelaide hosting the 2025 Beach Volley World Championships is a fantastic addition to the Green and Gold Runway to Brisbane 2032,” Mr Carroll said.

“This is another great opportunity for Australian athletes to compete in front of home crowds, taking on the best in the world and showing the world how Australia can put on a world class event.

“Young Australians will get the chance to see elite beach volleyballers, in person, and be inspired to chase their own Olympic dream.

“Congratulations to the team at Volleyball Australia on securing this landmark event.”
