ACT Team Appeal 100,000 donation Paris 2024

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has thanked the ACT Government for a $100,000 donation to the Australian Olympic Team Appeal for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Announced by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Sport Yvette Berry, the donation is accompanied by a further $100,000 in grants for eligible Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls who are looking for selection in the Paris Games.

AOC Chief Executive Officer Matt Carroll says the money will directly support the Australian athletes as they represent Australia with pride in Paris.

“This donation of $100,000 will go directly to funding the Australian Olympic Team’s campaign in Paris. The Australian Olympic Team Appeal will continue right through to Paris – and this contribution is very much appreciated.

“We aim to give every athlete their best opportunity on their best day. To do that requires a high-performance environment in the Olympic Village and subsites with the best possible medical care, recovery spaces, gymnasium, physiotherapy and other essential services.

“To the ACT Government, the AOC says thank you for the donation and also for the extraordinary work done to support the development of high-performance athletes through the ACT Academy of Sport (ACTAS).

“My thanks also to the Chair of the ACT Olympic Team Appeal Committee Paul Powderly whose energy in raising these critical funds for our Team is greatly appreciated,” Mr Carroll concluded.
