Ash Gentle's Olympic Takeover

A Junior World Champion, triathlete Ashleigh Gentle made her Olympic debut at Rio 2016, placing 26th.

Now, the 29-year-old has been eyeing off a second Games at Tokyo 2020 with the hopes of a podium finish. However, like all Aussie athletes aiming for Tokyo, her 2020 training and competition plans have altered greatly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At a time when she is usually traveling and racing overseas during the Northern Hemisphere summer, Gentle has been staying put at her home in Brisbane, Queensland, still trying to get as much training under her belt before the Olympic qualification period starts up again.

Gentle recently took over the @AUSOlympicTeam Instagram story to show viewers a day in her life as she swims, cycles and runs towards her goal of a second Olympic Games, alongside her training partner and fiancé, fellow triathlete Josh Amberger.

She shares how she squeezes three training sessions in a day, and how her triathlon story started many years ago...
