Australia's Jessica Fox, Ros Lawrence and Leanne Guinea won gold on the final day of the Canoe and Kayak Slalom World Championships, taking the C1 teams title at Bratislava in Slovakia.

Australian Youth Olympian Jessica Fox, Ros Lawrence and Leanne Guinea won gold on the final day of the Canoe and Kayak Slalom World Championships, taking the C1 teams title at Bratislava in Slovakia.

It was the first time the non-Olympic event has been contested at the World Championships and shows the depth of talent in the discipline, which is not yet on the Olympic program.

Australia did not fare so well in other events on Sunday, although there were some positive outcomes for Olympic qualification.

The Australian team has qualified for the London Womens K1, Mens C2, and can qualify boats in the Mens K1 and C1 at the Oceania qualifying in Sydney early next year.

In racing on Sunday, Kynan Maley finished 23rd in the MC1 semi-final while Jessica Fox was sixth in her semi in the WC1 and eighth in the final.

In the Womens K1 teams final, Australia finished 11th, while the Mens K1 team had a disaster and finished with some serious penalty points at the end of the field.

The Mens C1 team finished a respectable 7th in their final.
