Just one hundredth of a second separated Melissa Hoar and Emma Lincoln-Smith in the Konigssee skeleton World Cup overnight, the pair both finishing in the top ten.
Competing in her second World Cup for the season, Hoar was lying in sixth position after the first run, but posted the 13th fastest time on her second journey down the Konigssee track to finish in ninth place overall, in a time of one minute 39.34 seconds, 1.08 seconds behind race winner Melissa Hollingsworth of Canada.
Lincoln-Smith also produced her best form on her opening run, finishing in seventh place before slipping back to 11th on her second run to end the day in tenth place, the barest of margins behind her AIS team-mate.
On the FIBT rankings, Hoar is now sitting in tenth place on 834 points, while Lincoln-Smith is three spots further back on 776 points.
Michelle Steele is in 16th position on 658 points, while Lucy Chaffer is in 18th place on 640 points.
The next World Cup will be held in St Moritz on January 15, with an Intercontinental Cup scheduled for the same day in Calgary.
