Australian slider Michelle Steele has reinforced her status as one of the world's top skeleton athletes, finishing in ninth place in the opening World Cup of the season in Calgary, Canada. Steele covered the former Olympic track in a time of one minute 58.81 seconds for her two runs, 1.62 seconds behind race winner Katie Uehlander of the United States.
