Australian Government Supports Pacific Athletes to Realise Their Olympic Dream

The impact of COVID-19 left many Pacific nations in a difficult position in the lead up to the Tokyo Olympic Games. The pandemic created a series of event cancellations that reduced both training and qualification opportunities, significantly hampering the ability of many teams to qualify or compete at their best.

The Australian Olympic Committee acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of all the lands on which we are located. We pay our respects to ancestors and Elders, past and present.

We celebrate and honour all of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Olympians.
