Dale Begg-Smith has finished in 18th place in the Mont Tremblant World Cup moguls, with team-mate Michael Robertson back in the field in 35th place.

Begg-Smith, sixth in the opening event of the season in Tignes in December, scored 22.40 points, missing a berth in the 12 man final by .5 of a point, but retaining a place in the world's top ten.

The event was won by US skier Toby Dawson from team-mates Jeremy Bloom and Luke Westerlund, with another American, Travis Mayer, in fourth.

Dawson leads the World Cup standings on 136 points, with Mayer six points behind in second place after the first two rounds of the season. Begg-Smith is in ninth place.

In the women’s qualifying, Manuela Berchtold finished in 21st place, scoring low on the second air and missing a spot in the finals.

The women’s event was won by Nikola Sudova of the Czech Republic, her first victory in a nine year interrupted career. Margarita Marbler of Austria was second with Hannah Kearney of the US in third place. Sudova and Canadian defending champion Jennifer Heil are tied at the top of the World Cup standings on 136 points.
