ATHLETICS: Usain Bolt and Allyson Felix were named the International Amateur Athletics Federation's athletes of the year on Saturday.

Jamaican sprinter Bolt won three gold medals at the London Olympics in the 100 metres, 200m and 4x100m relay, replicating the feat he accomplished at Beijing four years previously.

It was the fourth time in the last five years that Bolt was won the award.

US sprinter Felix also won three golds in London in the 200m and in both the women's relay races. It is the first time she has won the accolade, succeeding Australian hurdler Sally Pearson who took it last year.

Bolt also admitted he wants to add Commonwealth Games gold to his medal haul after revealing his intention to run in Glasgow in 2014.

"I don't think it will a problem with my schedule," said the double-triple Olympic champion who has never raced in a Commonwealth Games.

The 26-year-old, however, admitted his first priority was to reclaim his world 100m title he lost to compatriot Yohan Blake in 2011 after being disqualified for a false start in the final.

"For 2013, the objective is to go as fast as possible and win the 100m title at the world championships in Moscow," he said.
