Craig Branch was back in alpine skiing World Cup action at the weekend, finishing in 44th place in the downhill on the famed Val Gardena piste. Branch covered the 3.5km Saslong course in two minutes 4.48 seconds, 3.11 seconds behind the winning time of Canadian Manuel Paradis-Osborn.

Branch covered the 3.5km Saslong course in two minutes 4.48 seconds, 3.11 seconds behind the winning time of Canadian Manuel Paradis-Osborn.

The OWI/NSWIS skier also contested the super G, placing 49th, while Jono Brauer continued to nurse the bone bruising in his knee back to health by opting to train rather than subject his body to the rigours of competition.
