Craig Branch has crashed out of the downhill in Beaver Creek, Colorado, but escaped injury, and is looking forward to next weekend’s events in Val’d’Isere.
“Unfortunately I crashed out halfway down the course (today),” Branch said.
“Nothing spectacular, just a high speed slide on my hip and I walked away unscathed so all is good from my side.”
“It (the Birds of Prey course) was very challenging this year. The snow was rock hard and fast as usual, the jumps were huge and there seemed to be a lot of people a little intimidated by the course.”
“I had some great split times in yesterday’s training run and was fired up for another good result but I guess it was not to be today.”
“All is going well over here, skiing fast and the body is feeling good. Let’s hope it stays that way!”
Race winner was Swiss skier Carlo Janka who has been the star of the season, collecting three gold and two bronze in six events across downhill, GS and super combined.
