Jono Brauer has finished in 42nd place in the slalom in Flachau, Austria.

Jono Brauer has finished in 42nd place in the slalom in Flachau, Austria. The OWI slalom specialist was 3.12 seconds behind first run leader Kalle Palander of Finland, but just .28 of a second outside qualifying for a place in the 30-man second run.
In terms of time, it is Brauer’s best career result
Palander, the defending World Cup champion, went on to win the event, his second slalom victory for the season. He recorded a total time of 1:42.24 to defeat Austrian Manfred Pranger by more than half a second, with Italian Giogio Rocca in third place.
Palander and Pranger share the lead in the World Cup standings on 200 points.
Brauer will ski in two Europa Cup slaloms in Les Menuires, France, this week before competing in the World Cup slalom in Chamonix on January 11.
