Up against a strong field that included Gretchen Bleiler (gold and silver medallist at the Bardonechia test event in February) Hannah Teter, Lindsey Jacobellis, Tricia Byrnes and Elena Hight, Bright was too good for all but Bleiler.
According to Snowboard.com, the US based Aussie number one earned her first US Open podium spot with a huge McTwist, frontside 5 and air to fakie, polishing things off with a Cab 5. Bright's impressive McTwist also scored her the Best Trick Award and $5000.
Hannah Teter took the bronze medal.
Multiple Open winner Danny Kass won the men’s gold from US team member Steve Fisher.
