Luke Deane has skied to the best result of his career, finishing 30th in super G at the World Alpine Skiing Championships in Bormio, Italy.

Luke Deane has skied to the best result of his career, finishing 30th in super G at the World Alpine Skiing Championships in Bormio, Italy.

Deane covered the Stelvio course in a time of one minute 30.45 seconds, 2.8 seconds slower than race winner Bode Miller of the United States.

Miller, the World Cup overall leader, edged out three Austrians for the title, Michael Walchhofer taking silver, Benjamin Raich the bronze, and Hermann Maier finishing in fourth place.

Deane’s Ski and Snowboard Australia team-mate Craig Branch placed 38th in a time of 1:31.62 and Brad Wall ended in 42nd place in a time of 1:32.75.
