With the qualification period for most disciplines ending soon, this week's events are vital to the qualification and preparation for Beijing 2022 hopefuls.

Podiums for bobsledder Bree Walker and moguls skier Jakara Anthony and a host of top 10s for snowboard cross and aerials headlined the weekend in winter sport.

Full event details below, starting with the Aerials World Cup on Wednesday (US Time).

EVENTS THIS WEEK

Aerials World Cup – Deer Valley, USA

•    12 January – aerials
•    The aerial skiers head to Utah for their final World Cup event before the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games.
•    Danielle Scott’s impressive lay-tuck-full in Canada last week landed her in second place for the super final.
•    Wesley Naylor is coming off a personal-best 24th place in his last start.

Moguls World Cup Double Header – Deer Valley, USA

•    13-14 January – moguls, dual moguls
•    The Aussies are in back-to-back World Cup double headers for the final time before Beijing 2022.
•    Following a silver medal for Jakara Anthony in Canada’s second event last week, she is four points away from Japan’s Anri Kawamura at the top of the World Cup standings.
•    Cooper Woods had his best ever World Cup finish, ninth, on day one in Canada and is set to compete alongside Brodie Summers and James Matheson.

Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Cup – St Moritz, Switzerland

•    14-16 January – monobob, skeleton
•    The final bobsleigh and skeleton World Cup of the season is here and Bree Walker will look for her sixth-straight podium finish of the season.
•    Jackie Narracott had a breakthrough in the skeleton event in Winterburg, Germany last week, finishing 11th. She will want to continue her strong start to 2022 in Switzerland.

Ski Cross World Cup Double Header – Nakiska, Canada

•    13-15 January – ski cross
•    Sami Kennedy-Sim and Doug Crawford are set to line up for their first World Cup competition of 2022.

Alpine Skiing World Cup – Zauchensee, Austria

•    13-16 January – downhill, super-g
•    Greta Small is shifting from France to Austria as she gears up for more Alpine World Cup action.

Snowboard Halfpipe & Slopestyle World Cup – Laax, Switzerland

•    13-15 January – snowboard slopestyle, snowboard halfpipe, freeski slopestyle
•    Scotty James will look to take a step towards his fourth Olympic team with a strong showing in Switzerland. 
•    After missing out on the final at Mammoth Mountain, Valentino Guseli and Emily Arthur get another opportunity to impress in the snowboard halfpipe. Matt Cox is also set for the snowboard slopestyle.

Freeski Slopestyle World Cup – Font Romeu, France

•    14-16 January – freeski slopestyle
•    Jindabyne’s Abi Harrigan and Cameron Waddell are set to compete at the last freeski slopestyle World Cup event before Beijing 2022.

Luge World Cup – Oberhof, Germany

•    15-16 January – luge
•    Alex Ferlazzo’s trip to Germany will mark three consecutive weeks of World Cup action, which follows on a 24th place finish in Latvia last week.

Biathlon World Cup – Ruhpolding, Germany

•    13-16 January – biathlon
•    Darcie Morton, the 22-year-old from Victoria, returns to World Cup action.
