Jill Colebourn has secured Australia’s best result for the 2017-2018 IBU season overnight in IBU Cup 3 in Obertilliach, Austria.

BIATHLON: Jill Colebourn has secured Australia’s best result for the 2017-2018 IBU season at the IBU Cup 3 in Obertilliach, Austria.

Competing in the 15km Individual event, Colebourn finished 74th in the field of 102.

She missed only three targets across the four shoots eventually finishing 10:41.1 behind Poland’s Monika Hojnisz.

The result in the 15km Individual ensures Colebourn continues through to the next phase of IBU Cups where she will continue to push for a qualification score for PyeongChang 2018.

In the 7.5km Sprint Darcie Morton edged out Colebourn with the Aussie duo coming 94th and 95th.

Morton shot slightly better missing three shots to Colebourn's four as she finished 5:42.5 behind winner Karolin Horchler of Germany.

Morton then lined up with her brother Damon in the Single Mixed Relay where they finished 24th out of 29 teams.
