NSW hits milestone 700th Olympics Unleashed visit
New South Wales marked 700 schools and 80,000 students visited with a special Olympics Unleashed presentation by dual Olympian Alex Almoukov at Wellington High School.
While touring the Orana region, Alex also visited Macquarie Anglican Grammar School, Mian School, Lincoln School and Dubbo North Public School.

Earlier in the month Skeleton athlete Nick Timmings inspired the students of Orange, detailing his journey to the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games just 10 years after first trying the sport. During his four-day regional tour, Nick visited 10 schools and spoke to just under 1000 students.
Across the border in Far North Queensland, aspiring Olympian Jessica Borg inspired local students across seven school visits over three days. While in Cairns, the Taekwondo athlete also took part in a community event at Brad Hope Family Martial Arts where she taught a class to young locals.

Olympians travel to the Indian Ocean Territories
In the last week of May, Tokyo 2020 Volleyballer Damien Schumann and Rio 2016 Basketballer Natalie Burton travelled across the Indian Ocean to the Christmas and Cocos Islands, sharing the Olympic spirit with local community members.
While on the islands, the Olympians delivered Olympics Unleashed presentations to local schools, took part in community events and hosted sports clinics encouraging community members to get involved.
This Olympics Unleashed trip was possible thanks to The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to the Indian Oceans Territories, which is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications Division.
Olympic-sized search for the next Australian Change-Makers
Celebrating young Australians for their fantastic work in creating positive change within their communities, the Australian Olympic Change-Maker program is now open to high schools across Australia.
Teachers are encouraged to nominate two students from years 10-12 who demonstrate the Olympic spirit both on and off the playing field.

Schools can find out more and nominate students at aochangemaker.com.au

Illawarra and Endeavour Sports High Schools formally recognised as Olympic Pathway Schools
Throughout May the AOC recognised two NSW Sports High Schools as official Australian Olympic Pathway Schools.
Formal school assemblies were held at Illawarra Sports High School and Endeavour Sports High School in celebration of their designation, with AOC Chief of Community Engagement James Edwards presenting the school principals with official plaques.
Tokyo 2020 Olympian Sarah Carli delivered her inspiring Olympics Unleashed presentation at the Illawarra assembly.

While at Endeavour, Olympian school alumni Stacey McManus, Craig Stevens and Carl Wilson took part in a Q&A panel.
