Across the Swiss boarder in Les Tuffes, France, biathletes Luke Miskin and Christian Mahon returned to the course for the Single Mixed Relay, less than 24 hours after their Individual events on Day 2.
Both athletes ski twice in the relay with females skiing 2 x 3km, and males skiing 3km in the first leg and 4.5km in the second, alternating between prone and standing shooting.
“We started ranked 26th and actually finished in the same position. I think that was definitely a respectable result but the shooting was a bit rough for both of us,” 17-year-old Miskin said.
“Perhaps we weren’t in the right mindset or something, and we were both coming off big individual races yesterday.
“I think we were both happy with our ski times though, so that was a plus.
“Because we train in the same club, Christian and I have been skiing together for a while, so I think we work well together as a team.”
“The conditions were really fast today as the snow was less slushy compared to earlier in the week,” Mahon said.
“I think we went alright. I think I skied well but I think I could have shot a bit better. I made mistakes in the second half of the event.”
The biathletes have a rest day on Monday, ahead of the Sprint events on Tuesday.
