Jacqui Cooper is back on the winning list, taking out the second round of a Nor-Am aerials event in Park City, and she is also back training triples.

Though the Park City field was limited to the US and Australian women - and did not include Cooper’s world number one team-mate Lydia Ierodiaconou – it was a strong demonstration of the Australian’s ability to perform her current repertoire to a high standard.

She scored a total of 170.85 points for her single and double twisting somersault jumps, defeating US number one Kate Reed by more than 17 points.

Lainie Cole grabbed the remaining podium place with a score of 150.39 points.

Bree Munroe was seventh on 138.03 and Kate Bender – in her second competition – was 11th on 121.41.

More significantly, both Cooper and Ierodiaconou have been training triple somersaults during the past week. Both women landed single twisting triples as the training program wound up for calendar year 2004.

Team members are taking a break until January 5th, and will reassemble in Canada for the next World Cup in Mont Tremblant on January 9.

Ierodiaconou, who has been restricted from training by patella tendonitis, will certainly benefit from the break.
