On Day 13, three-time Olympians Ken Wallace in canoe sprint and Mel Wu in diving are podium hopes aiming to add to their own Olympic medal collections. Cedric Dubler starts his Day 2 competition in the gruelling decathlon, while in the field Damien Birkinhead (shot put) and Eleanor Patterson (high jump) have qualifying rounds.

A genuine medal hope, Kathryn Mitchell lines up in the javelin final, while Damien Birkinhead returns to the stadium after his morning qualification round.
NSW South Coast middle distance runner Ryan Gregson brings the confidence of a terrific year into the race. That form continued in the heats where he coasted into the semi-final. But this will be the test. Can he become the first Australian to make the final in 40 years?
CANOE SPRINT – K2 1000m
Rio time: 09:00, AEST: 22:00
After winning two medals in Beijing, Ken Wallace was just outside the medals, placing fourth in the K2 1000m in London. He gets another chance to step on to the podium in Rio, teaming with Lachlan Tame in the K2 1000m. They have won silver at the past two World Championships. They are looking very good for a podium finish after a strong win in their semi-final. Their main competition looks to be Serbian pair Marko Tomicevic and Milenko Zoric, who defeated the Aussies in the heats. (read a preview here>>>)

The Modern Pentathlon competition kicks off for siblings Chloe & Max Esposito with the fencing ranking round. In London, Chloe placed a tremendous sixth. (read a preview here>>>)

DIVING – Women’s Diving 10m Platform final

Melissa Wu was a silver medallist at her first Olympic Games in 2008. She has been in great form and is ready for another podium performance. She will be joined by 18-year-old Brittany O’Brien, who was a late call-up for the Games. In their preliminary events yesterday, they performed very well, with Wu placing fourth and O’Brien 17th to both progress to today’s semi-final at 23.00 (AEST), ahead of the final on Friday at 05:00 (AEST). SAILING – Men’s 49er - medal races

Tomorrow is shaping up as another big day for our sailors. The postponed 470 Men's race will determine what colour medal Mat Belcher and Will Ryan take home, while the 49er medal race will determine the final results for 2012 gold medallists Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen, who are still a red hot medal chance.
