Day 15 (Saturday, 20 August)

GOLF – Women’s Final and medal rounds
Rio time: 07:00, AEST: 20:00
After more than 100 years, golf has returned to the Olympics. Young Australians Minjee Lee and Su Oh are within striking distance of a medal going into the final round. Both players are in equal eighth, seven strokes behind the leaders.

CANOE SPRINT – K4 1000m & K1 200m Finals
Rio time: 09:07, AEST: 22:07
Men’s K1 200m, making its second appearance in the Olympics, will have Aussie Stephen Bird line up in the final. Australia’s K4 1000m defending Olympic champions are locked in a close battle for the medals, following their third in the heat. There is just one surviving member of the London team in Rio – Jacob Clear. The new members are a mix of experienced and rookies. In his third Olympics, Ken Wallace has a wealth of experience, while Jordan Wood and Riley Fitzsimmons are on debut. They are tipped to be on the podium. Prior to London they had won just one medal, in 1992, when Jordan Wood’s late father, Steven, was a member of the bronze medal-winning team.

DIVING – Men’s 10m platform Semi-final and final
Rio Time 11:00, AEST 24:00
Dual Olympian James Connor and Olympic debutant Domonic Bedggood have qualified in 9th and 17th respectively for the men's 10m platform semi-final after the preliminary round in Rio. They contest the next rounds today. (read a preview website>>>)

TRIATHLON – Women’s
Rio time: 11:00, AEST: Sunday 24:00
Five medals in four Games makes Australia the most dominant country in women’s Olympic triathlon history. Beijing bronze medallist Emma Moffatt and London bronze medallist Erin Densham will race alongside world cup medallist Ashleigh Gentle. The beach start will hopefully help the Aussies in the swim.

MODERN PENTATHLON – Men’s
Rio time: 12:00, AEST: Saturday 01:30
Australia’s Max Esposito follows his sister, Chloe, into competition in modern pentathlon, but could he repeat her success? He has recently been training at high altitude in Mexico with Chloe and coach and father Daniel. First event of the day will be the swim at Deodoro Aquatic Centre before the fencing bonus round (a sudden-death, one-hit competition played in reverse order of ranking), the show jumping and finally the combined shooting and running.

ATHLETICS – Evening session: women’s 4x400m relay and men’s 1500m and 5000m
Rio time: 21:00, AEST: Sunday 09:30
Ryan Gregson has set history becoming the first athlete since Graham Crouch to make the men’s 1500m final. Crouch is here in Rio and will watch Gregson attempt to improve on his eighth from 1976.
Brett Robinson competes in his fourth world championship final in the men's 5000m, missing just one in the last six years – a tremendous championship record.
The women’s 4x400m relay team have progressed to the final for the first occasion since 2000. They ran a brilliant 3:25.71 in the heats, clocking quick individual splits of: Jess Thornton 51.7 (from the blocks), Anneliese Rubie (51.1), Caitlin Sargent-Jones (51.78) and Morgan Mitchell (50.97).
