Western Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder Casey Dellacqua has continued her stellar 2008 tennis season by today being offically named on the 2008 Australian Olympic Team.

Western Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder Casey Dellacqua has continued her stellar 2008 tennis season by today being offically named on the 2008 Australian Olympic Team.
 
23-year old Dellacqua was named to her first Olympic team as a member of the Tennis Section, representing Australia in both the women's singles and doubles. The Woodvale product is currently Australia's number one ranked women's singles player at number 42 in the world and the country's second ranked women's doubles player at number 26 in the world. Dellacqua will team with 2004 Olympic bronze medallist Alicia Molik in the doubles.
 
“I am so excited to be a part of the 2008 Australian Olympic team,” Dellacqua said after her selection was confirmed by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) this morning.

“Ever since I was a young girl growing up I always dreamed of representing Australia at the Olympic Games and I am so stoked and excited that my dream will come true in Beijing this year.”
Dellacqua will now join fellow Woodvale product Tina Morgan (tae kwon do) and the other 20 officially selected Western Australian athlethes in Beijing, taking the State's total membership of the 2008 Australian Olympic Team thus far to 22.
