Cycling – BMX Freestyle – Olympic Qualifying Series
Five Aussie BMX freestylers are competing in the second round of the Olympic Qualfying Series in Budapest, Hungary from today Friday 21 June to Saturday 22 June.
Kicking off the competition is Tokyo 2020 Olympian Natalya Diehm and Sarah Nicki in the women’s event with heats starting at 6pm AEST tonight and finals taking place from Saturday 7:30pm AEST.
The men’s competition starts from 10pm AEST today with finals being held 24 hours later (10pm AEST Saturday).
Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Logan Martin will be joined by teammates Jai Toohey and Alec Danelutti in the hope of securing quota spots for Paris.
Logan Martin is the best placed Aussie going into the second and final round of the series after a second-place finish in Shanghai from round one. Natalya Diehm was the highest placed Aussie in the women’s event at Shanghai, finishing in ninth place.

Skateboarding – Park & Street – Olympic Qualifying Series
Also in Hungary right now, Aussie park and street skateboarders are competing to get a spot on the starting line at Paris 2024.
Park
The women’s preliminary rounds kicked off yesterday, with finals being held on Sunday 23 June at 6:30pm AEST.
Arisa Trew is going into the second round of the Olympic Qualifying Series in top spot after a first-place finish in Shanghai, China last month. Ruby Trew (not related) is the second best placed Aussie female after a top-eight finish last round.

Other Aussies in contention include Coco Crafter, Charlotte Heath, Poppy Olsen and Aaliyah Wilson.
The men’s competition kicks off today Friday June 21 at 7:40pm AEST with finals commencing at 12:36am AEST on Sunday June 23.
Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Keegan Palmer is currently in second place after the previous round, with Tokyo 2020 teammate Keiran Woolley in fourth place ahead of this weekend’s competition.
Keefer Wilson, Pheonix Sinnerton, Ethan Copeland and Ash Wilcomes are also contesting the event for Australia.
Street
The men’s street preliminaries start today Friday June 21 at 12:35am AEST whilst the women’s street preliminaries start the following morning Saturday June 22 at 12:35am AEST.
In the women’s field, Chloe Covell heads into the second series as the highest placed Aussie street skater after her eighth place finish in Shanghai. She will be joined by Liv Lovelace, Hayley Powell and Felicity Turner.

The men’s competition will see Tommy Flynn, Rome Collyer and Tokyo 2020 Olympian Shane O’Neill in action.

Archery – World Cup III
Aussie archers are competing in Antalya, Turkey until Sunday June 23 at the Archery World Cup III.
It’s the final event for archers to make their case to be nominated for the Australian Olympic Team for Paris 2024. There is one female and one male quota spot up for grabs.

Golf – Women’s PGA Championships
The Women’s PGA Championships see Aussie female golfers competing through to Sunday 23 June in Washington, United States.
After the first round, Hannah Green is currently sitting in T-14th with Grace Kim and Sarah Kemp the next best placed Aussies in T-42.

Beach Volleyball – Asian Continental Cup Finals
Two male Aussie beach volleyball pairs are competing in Ningbo Xiangshan, China in the Asian Continental Cup Finals in a bid for a final spot under the Eiffel Tower at Paris 2024.
The action begins today Friday 21 June from 12:40pm AEST with Mark Nicolaidis and Izac Carracher teeing off against Abdallah Ibrahim Nassim and Mohamed Ihab Zaki of Qatar.
Jack Pearse and Paul Burnett are also taking the court against Qatar with the pair facing Assam Ahmed Mahmoud and Saifeddine Binaziz Elmajid.

Surfing – WSL World Championship Tour
Five Aussie surfers are in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil continuing their WSL World Championship Tour from tomorrow Saturday 22 June – Sunday 30 June.
Molly Picklum is headlining the women’s heats with Jack Robinson, Ethan Ewing, Ryan Callinan and Liam O’Brien heating up the men’s event.
