Plenty of Paris 2024 Olympic quota spots and qualification ranking points up for grabs this week!
Cycling World Championships
Aussie cyclists have started their campaign at the Cycling World Championships in Glasgow, with the team competing across all Olympics disciplines – Track, Road, BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle and Mountain Bike.
In total, 120 Australian athletes are vying for the coveted title of ‘World Champion’, with world ranking points going towards Olympic qualification for Paris 2024.

Open Water Swimming Paris Test Event
Paris will host the 2024 Open Water Swimming events in the River Seine, just like they did the last time they hosted the Olympic Games in 1924.
The 2023 World Aquatics Open Water World Cup will take to the Seine this weekend, acting as a Paris 2024 Test event as well as the latest stop in their World Cup series.
Olympian, Chelsea Gubecka, is fresh off her silver medal at the World Championships in July and will spearhead the Aussie assault in Paris.

Sport Climbing World Championships
The Sport Climbing World Championships have kicked off, with the Aussie contingent continuing their campaign over the next week in Switzerland.
At the conclusion of the event, the top three athletes per gender in Lead and Boulder, along with the top two athletes per gender in Speed will earn themselves a quota spot by name for Paris 2024.

Judo 2023 Hungary Masters
Dual Olympian Katharina Haecker will lead the Aussie charge at 2023 Hungary Masters in Budapest this weekend. No Australian has ever medalled at a Judo Masters event, with Haecker entering the tournament in 5th seed, she will attempt to make Australian judo history.
The event also offers athletes the chance to gain significant Olympic qualification points.

Diving World Cup Super Final
Ten Aussie divers will compete in the final international competition for the 2023 season at the World Cup in Berlin.
Fresh off his historic 10m platform World Championship title, Cassiel Rousseau headlines the Australian team, which includes Olympians Maddison Keeney, Shixin Li, Brittany O’Brien, Nikita Hains and Sam Fricker.

Football FIFA Women's World Cup
After an exhilarating final group round match against Canada, defeating the 2020 Olympic champions 4-0, the Matildas are through to the quarter finals in the Women’s World Cup.
The Matildas will take on Denmark in the round of 16, kicking off at 8.30pm on Monday 7 August at Stadium Australia.

Hockey Oceania Cup Qualifying Tournament
Olympic qualification is on the line in Whangarei, New Zealand as the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras take on the Black Sticks at the Oceania Cup, from 10-13 August.
In a best of three match series, the winning team will receive direct qualification for Paris 2024, with the losers having to go through the final qualification tournament in 2024.

Sailing World Championships
From 10 August, Australian sailors will take on the world's best at the Sailing World Championships in the Netherlands.
Paris 2024 quota spots will be on offer for every sailing class, with a maximum one quota spot per country per event up for grabs.
The following number of quotas are available per event: Windsurfer (iQFOiL) – 11 per gender; Kite (Formula Kite) – 8 per gender; One-Person Dinghy (ILCA) – 16 per gender; Skiff (49er/49erFX) – 10 per gender; Mixed Two-Person Dinghy (470) – 8; Mixed Multihull (Nacra 17) - 9.

WSL Tahiti Pro
The last stop of the World Surf League (WSL) before the season ending Top 5 Finals kicks off on 11 August, at the iconic Teahupoo break in Tahiti – the same venue that will host the Olympic competition next year.
This is the final opportunity for the world's best surfers to secure their spot in the WSL Finals with only the top 5 progressing through.
Tyler Wright (2nd), Molly Picklum (4th) and Steph Gilmore (7th) are the top ranked Australians heading into the Tahiti Pro on the women’s side, while Ethan Ewing (2nd), Jack Robinson (8th) and Ryan Callinan (10th) spearhead the men’s side.

2023 Australian Boxing Championships and Selection Trials
The Australian Elite Championships will see Australia’s best boxers crowned from 8-12 August in Perth.
The National Squad will be selected from these championships. With the Pacific Games in November a direct Paris 2024 qualifier and the squad to contest that event chosen from the National squad, Aussie boxers will be out to secure their place in the national team.
