No matter where in the world they were, Aussie athletes and Olympic sports banded together on July 24 to celebrate one year to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
From a small group of athletes celebrating the milestone at a launch event in Sydney, to Australia's top swimmers putting the world on notice at the Gwangju 2019 World Championships, social media was alight with #1YearToGo messages yesterday.
Check out a few highlights from the event at the Qantas headquarters in Sydney with Olympic legend Dawn Fraser (swimming), Olympic Champions Sally Pearson (athletics), Chloe Esposito (modern pentathlon) and Evania Pelite (rugby 7s), along with fellow Tokyo 2020 hopefuls Rohan Browning (athletics), Ryan Callinan (surfing) and Nathan Katz (judo).

We launched our Games hashtag #TokyoTogether, which recognises that every athlete’s journey to Tokyo represents not only the dedication and persistence of the athletes themselves, but also the ongoing support of their family, friends, sports, coaches, state institutes, sponsors and their communities.
