PYEONGCHANG2018: The festive season is here and while many of us are relaxing on the beach and preparing the pavlova for Christmas dessert, not everyone is soaking up the hot Aussie summer.
With the PyeongChang 2018 Games less than 50 days away, most of your Winter Olympic hopeful athletes will be having a white Christmas with a training session or two.
Find out what your PyeongChang 2018 hopeful and selected athletes are getting up to during the Christmas period.

DAVID MORRIS: Aerial skiing, Sochi 2014 silver medallist, aiming for his third Games at PyeongChang 2018
How do you usually spend Christmas, and how will this year be different?
Sometimes I fly home from China where our first World Cups are and sometimes I go straight to the next location because we start training fairly quickly after Christmas. This year I'll spend it alone in an AirBnB in Salt Lake City, as I'm here to try and adjust to the time zone early in order to be ready to train and compete without jetlag. I don't want to waste any training sessions this Olympic season, so I'm sacrificing family and friends at Christmas time so that I can compete well.

What is your favourite thing about the festive season?
Over here there's snow, so all the Christmas songs actually make sense for once! I like that it's as good a reason as any to visit people and discuss how the year has gone, and what everyone has done.
What is your favourite thing to eat at Christmas?
Anything with meat in it, and desserts. NOM! Who am I kidding? Anything, because I love food.

What’s on your Christmas wish-list this year?
Not having to do cardio or go to the gym or exert any energy over Christmas haha.
How will you spend New Year’s?
We'll be training between now and over New Year’s, so depending on what days we train, might just sleep through it and have to get up early the next day and do some jumps!

ANTON GRIMUS: Ski Cross, Sochi 2014 Olympian aiming for his second Games at PyeongChang 2018
How do you usually spend Christmas, and how will this year be different?
Depends where I am in the world. When I am on the road during race season, Christmas happens to be right in the centre of racing, so for a majority of the past winters I have spent Christmas in Austria, with family friends in between training and racing. If I’m home, it’s usually a family occasion; a European style Christmas Eve with the immediate family followed by a Christmas Day lunch with extended family.
What is your favourite things about the festive season?
Time for the body and mind to relax from racing and spending quality time with family and friends.
What is your favourite thing to eat at Christmas?
Roast lamb, prawns and cherries.

What’s on your Christmas wish-list this year?
At the moment some better weather! We have had a bunch of snow throughout our racing season which has lead to a few races being cancelled. Some great weather and even better racing conditions would be the best present!
How will you spend New Year’s?
Depends where I am, but most likely at a small hut on top of a ski hill in Salzburg, Austria with good friends!
CLAUDIA GUELLI: Moguls, aiming to make her Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018
How do you usually spend Christmas, and how will this year be different?
I'm the Grinch when it comes to Christmas and definitely not a festive person (sorry to all). Up until this year I've been based in Colorado to compete so my celebrations never stray too far from there. This year I'll be competing in China instead, but will still manage to fly across to America for our 5 day break for Chrissy with friends.
What is your favourite thing about the festive season?
I'm a sucker for fairy lights. I'd vote to have them up all year round.
What is your favourite thing to eat at Christmas?
Fries. Just my favourite thing to eat in general if I'm being honest.
To not hear any Mariah Carey Christmas music. Orrrr to spend the holiday with family for once!!
How will you spend New Year’s?
This year I'll be with the team in Canada and hoping to catch up with a few local friends I met last year. In bed by 10pm for training the next day :)
