JARRYD HUGHES: Snowboard Cross, Sochi 2014 Olympian aiming to compete at PyeongChang 2018

How do you usually spend Christmas, and how will this year be different?
Usually I spend Christmas at home with family and friends, but this year will be different because I will be in Vancouver, Canada training through Christmas so that I leave no stone unturned.

What is your favourite thing about the festive season?
What I love about the festive season is just being around my family.

What is your favourite thing to eat at Christmas?
Ahhh I LOVE cooking a lamb up on the barbie with some sweet potato!

What’s on your Christmas wish-list this year?
A shinny Gold thing from the Olympics.

How will you spend New Year’s?
Knowing me, probably asleep early so I can be ready to train nice and early with the team on January 1st to make sure I start the year off right and so my Christmas wish comes true.

MADII HIMBURY: Mogul skiing, aiming to make her Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018

How do you usually spend Christmas, and how will this year be different?
Usually I would spend my Christmas in Winter Park, CO split between the Australian Mogul Skiing Acadamy and my family house hold. Everyone gets into the spirit with Christmas jumpers and a team Kris Kringle followed by an elaborate breakfast. I am lucky enough to have my parents come and visit me each year and would then spend the rest of the day with them doing a surprise Christmas activity such as biathlon or horseback riding. We will then spend the afternoon relaxing by the tree (with lots of presents underneath) before dinner with other Aussie families in the area.

This year is my first year not in Colorado and I unfortunately will not be spending the break with my own family. Jakara [Anthony] and I are heading to San Francisco hoping to get some sunshine over the break. This year we will be busy touristing about on the holidays as well as crashing KC Oakley's (US Mogul Skier) family Christmas. We will have lots to report back on how American's 'do' Christmas.

What is your favourite thing about the festive season?
What I love about the festive season is the excitement and preparation that leads into the Christmas break, as everyone gets into the spirit dressing up, decorating and shopping for gifts. No one can say that any Christmas sweater is too festive! Most exciting of all, It's been a month overseas, living in a crazy household of 22 people and I get to see my parents again.

What is your favourite thing to eat at Christmas?
We don't really do the elaborate Christmas lunch in my family so I would have to go with trying all the fun Christmas latte's at Starbucks.

What’s on your Christmas wish-list this year?
I have been eying off mini leather backpacks everywhere and am hoping Santa can find one for me :):)

How will you spend New Year’s?
Our New Year’s will be spent in Penticton, BC. We will be back into the full swing of training by that point and will be flying out to our third World Cup in Calgary the following day. It’s probably unlikely I even make midnight, sadly.

BARBARA JEZERSEK: Cross Country Skiing, two time Olympian competing for Slovenia aiming to make her Australian Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018.

How do you usually spend Christmas, and how will this year be different?
I spend my Christmas usually with my family in Slovenia - I'm always in Europe for racing season. My only Christmas in Australia was in 2014 and was unusual for me - all green and hot with holiday decorations?! ? So this year Christmas will be with my family. I will miss this Christmas with my partner who is back in Sydney.

What is your favourite things about the festive season?
Family coming together and being grateful for every moment I can spend with them.

What is your favourite thing to eat at Christmas?
Hard question ? usually we have light food on table so we can eat more of sweet desserts and cookies ?.

What’s on your Christmas wish-list this year?
To stay healthy and simply enjoy every second and do amazing things - to do great at my 3rd Olympics.

How will you spend New Year’s?
I’ve spent the last 10 New Year’s with team - we had competitions over New Year’s so we had dinner, quick toast and go to sleep because we had to race next day. But this year will be around my closest friends and family. Next one will be in Sydney.
