PYEONGCHANG: It's been another historic day at the 2018 Winter Games as Norway's Marit Bjoergen became the most decorated Winter Olympian in history while also helping her country set a record for medals won in cross-country skiing.
The 37-year-old, who has won a medal in all five cross-country events she competed in at PyeongChang, won the final gold medal on offer at the Games, the women's 30km classic.
"When I look behind me and see what I have done, it's incredible," she said.
"It has been an amazing career for me, this is my last Olympics and to finish like this is incredible."
Bjoergen ends her Olympic career with eight gold medals.
"It's been an incredible career for me, and after being a mum, it's hard to stay away from home and these three weeks I was away from my son also," she said.
"It's been tough and to finish like this is amazing."
Finland's Krista Parmakoski and Sweden's Stina Nilsson claimed silver and bronze respectively, receiving their medals with Bjoergen at Sunday night's Closing Ceremony.
Germany and Korea tied for silver in the 4-man Bobsleigh, the second dead heat in sliding in less than a week.
A second German team, piloted by Francesco Friedrich, took the gold on Sunday and were relieved to not have been caught up in the scramble for silver, especially after sharing gold with Canada in the 2-man event.
"We go on that track, we watch every corner, we focus on the mind, we look at videos," Friedrich said.
"You need so many hours to plan the track, to know the points you must steer. It's hard work."

It was another action packed day of Curling at Gangneung as Sweden defeated Korea in the women's gold medal game.
Swedish skip Anna Hasselborg said that becoming an Olympic champion "felt so great".
"We did the game of the week when we needed it in an Olympic final," she said.
"I'm so proud of my girls. It was an amazing game to play. I'm overwhelmed with feelings. It's crazy.
"We put this team togerther in 2015. We had such success since then because we just wanted to be in this final, winning this gold. I love those girls. They play so well. They are amazing players. They bring everything on the game. I'm so happy. They are the best."
Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR) defeated Germany 4-3 in overtime in the men's ice hockey gold medal.
Prior to Sunday's victory, no team containing Russian players had secured an Olympic gold medal in sport since Unified Team in 1992.
"It feels good but I have accomplished my dream," OAR's Pavel Datsyuk said.
"Now I have no dream."
Germany's Gerrit Fauser said OAR "are a really good team ... they have quality players. We fought against that, but at the end it was not enough."
"I think if you are that close, you are disappointed right after, but it will take a few hours to realise what we have done here. Obviously it is a big success for Germany, but right after a loss, when it is a close game like that, it is tough."
