SNOWBOARD SLOPESTYLE: Scotty James continued his good form at the Stoneham Snowboard World Cup, making the final of the Slopestyle event, finishing ninth.

A day after taking bronze in the Halfpipe, James competed in the Slopestyle semi-final, putting down a high scoring run of 87.25 which sent him through to the 12-man final.

With two runs in the final to make his mark, James couldn't quite get the score he needed for a podium finish. He put down a best run of 70.00 which put him in ninth.

Maxence Parrot of Canada took out the event with 94.50. Niklas Mattsson of Sweden and Torgeir Bergrem of Norway were second and third respectively.

Australia's Declan Vogel-Paul was also a contender in the semi-final, but wasn't able to put together the run he needed to make the final, finishing 19th. At just 18 years of age and competing in only his third World Cup, the future looks bright for Vogel-Paul.

In the women's event, Torah Bright had qualified straight through to the final but did not start, ending the event in 10th place.

Christy Prior from New Zealand won the event 89.75 with Cheryl Maas of the Netherlands in second and Anna Gasser of Austria in third.
