Nate Johnstone has finished in 18th place in the opening World Cup of the snowboard halfpipe season, after falling on both of his runs in the final. Johnstone had made a solid start to the event, qualifying through to the semi-final stage with a best run worth 37.7 points, missing direct entry into the final by just one place.
