Knowles named World Player of the Year
HOCKEY: Australian men’s hockey captain Mark Knowles has been named as the sport’s International Player of the Year for 2014. The 30-year-old lead the Kookaburras to gold at the 2014 World Cup and Commonwealth Games.

The Australian Olympic Committee acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of all the lands on which we are located. We pay our respects to ancestors and Elders, past and present.

We celebrate and honour all of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Olympians.
