IOC: The final countdown to the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games is about to start with the lighting of the flame for the Torch Relay!
At 11 a.m. (local time), 6pm AEST on Wednesday 30 April, the Youth Olympic Torch will be lit.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on this page from the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Greece, the host of the first modern Olympic Games, in 1896.
Follow the priestesses, torch bearers and Nanjing’s friendly mascot NANJINGLELE as they kick off the torch’s journey to Nanjing. Harnessing the power of the sun, a parabolic mirror will be used to light the torch. Once lit, you will have the chance to take it where you want via the Virtual Torch Relay.
