Olympic gold medallist Russell Mark and his wife, triple Commonwealth gold medallist Lauryn, scored a unique double at the national shooting championships in Perth on Wednesday.

Russell won a record-breaking 38th Australian title by winning the national double trap championship with Lauryn winning the skeet competition.

The 46-year-old veteran from Hoppers Crossing in Victoria, who won his first national championship 30 years ago on the same range, declared his intention to compete at his sixth Olympic Games next year in London.

The championships continue on Wednesday with fellow Olympic gold medallist Michael Diamond leading the trap competition with 74 hits out of a possible 75.
