Australian kayaker Joanne Brigden-Jones claimed her first individual medal at a World Cup event with a third placing in the women's K1 200m in Szeged, Hungary.
Her bronze medal on Sunday took the Australian team's final medal count from the meet to three, following Olympic gold medalist Ken Wallace's bronzes in the K1 1000m and new long distance K1 5000m on Saturday.
Sydney paddler Brigden-Jones, who competed in the 2007 Australian Youth Olympic Festival, showed the sprinting form that saw her win three gold medals at the Oceania championships in her hometown in February.
With a gusty headwind blowing down the course, she used her strength and power to finish behind only winner Teresa Portela of Portugal and favourite Natasa Janics of Hungary.
"I knew I had a chance to medal in these conditions and so I jumped on it and gave it a good shot," said Brigden-Jones.
"Fortunately I got away well and managed to hang on."
Earlier, Murray Stewart placed sixth in his first men's K1 200m final, while Steve Bird and Jesse Phillips finished seventh in the men's K2 200m final.
The Australian team now heads to Duisburg in Germany for the final regatta of the World Cup series next weekend.
