From November 16 – 19 2006, The Victorian Olympic Council plays host to Melbourne – 50 Years On, a public exhibition which will demonstrate the contribution and development by companies and organisations that has taken place in Melbourne and Regional Victoria since the world spotlight shone on Melbourne in 1956.
The Melbourne Exhibition Centre will be a living statement of the achievements and challenges that have been overcome to make Melbourne ‘the world’s most liveable city’ and Victoria such a vibrant and easy-living place to be.
Pillars of this exhibition that are celebrating their development over the past 50 years include ACI Packaging, Australia Post, Beaurepaires, Channel Seven, City of Melbourne, Coles Myer Ltd, Herald and Weekly Times, Jayco, Linfox, Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE, Qantas, RACV, Shell, Tabcorp, Tattersall’s, The University of Melbourne, Toyota and the Victorian State Government.
