FREESTYLE – MOGULS: All three members of the Australian women’s Moguls team made it through to the finals at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park on Saturday night local time.

Strong runs from Britt Cox (19.93), Taylah O’Neill (17.81) and Nicole Parks (17.77) ensured they were among the top 10 skiers to join 10 earlier qualifiers in progressing through to the finals phase later on Saturday evening.

“Crossing that finish line I was stoked to do a good run and I knew if I did a top to bottom I’d place reasonably well,” O’Neill said.

Cox qualified fourth, O’Neill seventh and Parks eighth.

“I’m really stoked with my backflip. It’s the best backflip I’ve ever done on a course so far, so it’s good that I had that in the competition,” Parks said.

The Aussie trio will face stiff competition in defending Gold medallist and reigning World Champion Hannah Kearney (USA) and the three Dufour-Lapointe sisters (Chloe, Justine, Maxime) from Canada.

“You’re definitely going to see the women stepping it up a notch for the next level. They’re going to ski faster and jump bigger and I’m going to try and do that as well,” Cox said.
