Alana Nicholls capped a big day for the Australian canoeing team by winning a gold medal at the World Cup meet in Racice, Czech Republic.
The 25-year-old from Perth won the women's K1 500m final on Saturday, beating home Henriette Engen Hansen of Denmark in 1:52.74 with Britain's Rachel Cawthorn third.
Murray Stewart (NSW) and David Smith (Qld) combined to win silver in the men's K2 1000m final.
Stewart and Smith then combined with Queenslanders Tate Smith and Jacob Clear to win another silver in the men's K4 1000m final, finishing just 0.027 seconds behind the crew from Belarus.
However the star was Nicholls who used her improved tactical sense as she burst to the front in the final 200m.
"I had a sneaky look across and I was about fourth or fifth, but that wasn't too far behind and I knew I've always got that kick with 200m to go so I knew I was going to be up there," said Nicholls, who won the silver in Poznan two weeks ago.
"I used to just go out hard and hang on, and at the end I'd be dying that's for sure."
Nicholls short-term goal is to win the next World Cup round in Duisberg, Germany next week and her eyes are also on next year's London Olympics.
"For London, obviously we have to qualify that position first, and that's all I am thinking about.
"But I want to go to the Olympics and I don't just want to go, I want to come home with a medal, if not gold, so that's obviously in the back of my mind and that's what drives me at training."
