BOXING: After a successful tournament at the recent 2015 Oceania Boxing Championships, Australia qualified 9 boxers to compete at the 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships, to be held in Doha, Qatar.

64kg - David Biddle (SA)
69kg - Nathan Webber (QLD)
75kg - Daniel Lewis (NSW)
81kg - Aaron Spagnolo (VIC)
91kg - Jason Whateley (VIC)
+91kg - Joseph Goodall (QLD)
For English, Biddle, Lewis and Whateley this will be their second World Championships appearance, after representing Australia at the 2013 World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Their experience will be valuable to the team which features a few boxers representing Australia at the Elite level for the first time.
The World Championships is the first opportunity for our boxers to win a quota spot at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. For most divisions only the top 3 boxers will earn an Olympic Games berth, while in others only the Top 2 or Gold medalist will qualify.
