Finland and Sweden both posted shout outs on the third day of the women’s ice hockey tournament at the Torino Games.

Sweden blanked Italy 11-0, with Therese Sjolander scoring a hat-trick and Gunilla Andersson and Maria Rooth each adding two goals and two assists.

The Swede’s improved to two wins from two games and appear destined for the medal round.

Finland faced a stiff test from Switzerland before prevailing 4-0.

Swiss goaltender Florence Schelling stopped 37 of 41 shots, but her counterpart Noora Raty was perfect, saving all 17 shots she faced.

The third round of matches will take place on 14 February (Day 4), with Canada and Sweden facing off in the game of the day. In other contests Italy take on Russia, Switzerland play Germany and Finland will battle the United States.
