The member of the Australian Olympic Team who received a positive PCR test on arrival at Beijing International Airport ahead of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, has now tested negative.

Olympic Team Member Tests Negative After Earlier Positive Airport Test

11:30PM AEDT on Sunday 30 January: A member of the Australian Olympic Team who received a positive PCR test on arrival ahead of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, has now tested negative.

The Team member, who went into isolation after the airport test, underwent a second test this morning Beijing time, which has come back negative.

The Team member will now undergo a final test tomorrow, which if again negative, will allow the Member to return to their usual routine.

 

Olympic Team Member Isolating After Positive Test on Arrival in Beijing

2:30PM AEDT on Sunday 30 January: A member of the Australian Olympic Team has received a positive PCR test on arrival at Beijing International Airport ahead of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

The Team member is now isolating while awaiting a second test. The AOC is respecting the privacy of the individual.

An update will be provided once further testing has been conducted and the situation becomes clearer, with the ongoing process determined by the outcome of the testing.
