With three Olympic medals to his name, Shane Kelly's Olympic journey spans over 20 years of absolute elation and devastating heartbreak.
Now, the 47-year-old five-time Olympian is using his experiences to train the next generation of track cyclists at the Victorian Institute of Sport.
On this week’s edition of Olympics Unleashed – Tokyo, presented by Optus, Kelly joins host David Culbert to talk about growing up in the country town of Ararat, Victoria, to standing on the Olympic dais three times.
While Culbert was competing at his second and final Olympics at Barcelona 1992, Kelly was making his debut in the Men’s 1km Time Trial, where he claimed silver after being pipped for the gold medal by the last rider in the field, Moreno of Spain.
He openly shares his journey of highs and lows on this week's episode of Olympics Unleashed - Tokyo, and gives his advice for the Tokyo 2020 Team.
